It contains the following units:
1- Conventional X-Ray.
2- Fluoroscopy.
3- Spiral CT scan.
4- Multi-slice CT scan 64
5- Cardiac and vascular catheterization using (Multi-slice CT scan 64)
6- Ultrasound imaging (U/S & Color Doppler U/S “Vascular & Nonvascular).
7- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
8- Jaw imaging (Panoramic).
Note that the Radiology Department performs a large number of radiological surgical interventions annually (Invasive Radiology)
such as:
Various types of samples (Biopsy)
-Nephrestomy
-Abscess Drainage
and others,,,
It takes more than 40 thousand different X-ray images per year.
The Radiology Department employs three specialists:
1- Dr. Tawfiq Al-Jundi - Head of the Department, obtained the Jordanian Board, August 1998 session
2- Dr. Mahmoud Awad - obtained the Greek Board, June 2002 session, obtained the Jordanian Board, February 2003 session, and the Palestinian Board, October 2003 session
The Radiology Department at Al-Makassed Hospital is the only educational department in Palestine to train resident doctors to obtain the Palestinian Medical Council certificate in diagnostic radiology.
At present, there are a number of resident doctors in the department on the Palestinian Medical Council program.
The Radiology Department employs eleven technicians who have degrees from higher institutes or universities starting from a diploma in radiology (2-3 years), a bachelor's degree up to a master's degree, as well as a nurse and a secretarial office with two secretaries.
The Radiology Department is attended by students from the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Quds University, and students from the Faculty of Medical Professions/Department of Medical Imaging and Nursing train in the department. Male and female students from the Medical Secretariat train in the Radiology Department. The Radiology Department receives all radiology examinations that are not performed in the rest of the hospitals in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
